Looks like I spent most of my time in HR zone 3 instead of zone 2 which isn’t a bad thing. I’m not sure yet but I’m thinking about adding some riding instead of weight training on my off days to improve my running endurance so that I can maintain a sustained run for the full time I’m supposed to spend running.

Looks like everything is coming together nicely on the walking/jogging path right now. In order to keep things mixed up and increase the number of days a week I spend working out I’m going to do some upper body stuff at the gym on my off days to balance the running.

In addition to this I’ve been eating raw food for 4/5 meals a day pretty consistently. I’ll be posting some information on that here in the future to share what I’ve learned on the matter.

Went shoe shopping today, my first stop was REI to check out the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 9. Overall they are a very nice shoe but I decided to check out Luke’s Locker which was recommended by a co-worker as the store for runners.

They have some very knowledgeable employees and a pretty wide selection. They give you two options when you walk in; pick a shoe or get fitted for a shoe. Basically you get to pick one that you like and they will fit you for it or they will check your shoe size, how you walk and how you run to figure out what shoe(s) might be a best fit for your walking style. Three pairs of shoes later I ended up with the first pair of shoes we started with. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend anyone who is serious about running, and lives near one of their stores, give them the opportunity to fit you into a good shoe.

Had it not started to rain I would have continued another 0.2 Mi rounding out to 30 minutes of jogging/walking. I would say that compared to the aggressive training plan that I am ahead of schedule because I jogged between 3 and 5 minutes of the total time.
